November :O

Right, so it's november and if we're going to be doing stuff for christmas, we'll need to start brainstorming if we want to fundraise. we'll probably have 4 meetings this month and we'll probably paint all 4 meetings... so don't forget to wear/keep old clothes in your locker if you don't want ot have failclothing like isaac... >:D
there isn't anythign else...but dont' forget to update your journals periodically and if you want to treat us to candy or something, you can bring some :D

Today, the 29th

hi everybody-
we didn't have a meeting today ( i hope you figured it out...) hope you enjoyed your afternoon!
the next upcoming meetings we will most definetly paint, so don't forget to keep old clothes in your locker just in case. and if you can, try and recruit people to help painting/tracing/sketching.
so if any of you want to know how many hours you have, email me at our email.
i'd also like to know if you all got word that we didnt have a meeting before school ended because i know most of you pass by the classroom anyway, i just wanna know how effective that is in case if i can't get the emails out.

Good job at fallfest guys :D
so everyone who wants to be paid back for their stuff should give us the receipts and email us.
our next big festival thing will probably be Communiveristy, so from now on we will try to start painting.
we will try to get more people for communiveristy since we will have more stuff to sell/do.
overall, it was a big sucess!

Allright! meeting tomorrow, room 264 again. be there 1:40 ish, come with ideas for fallfest. events are important, we need to brainstorm ideas....
After some brainstorming, we will take a "field trip" to see our mural panels and maybe we'll explain the whole process that's taking place...
...and finally, we will then make a poster for our stand at fallfest and future events.

Upcoming meetings

Allright, so a rundown of what to expect for the next few meetings:
THIS Weds, the 17th: in room 264(chinese room)
we'll give you a run down of everything to expect for the year, our major events, our main goals, meet the leaders, rules, etc,etc. if you need contracts, we'll have some.

NEXT Weds. the 24th: in room 264
for anyone who couldn't make the meeting on the 17th, we'll discuss the basic idea of ARTE, then we will brainstorm for our next major event, Fallfest.

Communiversity

Communiversity is April 26th noon to five. However, because I (Nikita) have to be at the school by 4:30 for the Jazz State Finals, we will end at 4:00. We will set up at 11:00 am. Our table will be near the library, slot 29.

This wednesday, we will complete the last coat of gesso. No more bad smelling primer!

Communiversity & Mural

Hey guys
Hope you are having a great spring break!

We are officially in Communiversity, which is on April 26th. If you plan on making jewelry, friendship braclets, duct tape wallets, etc. start now b/c AP's and SAT II can consume your life around that time too. We are also allowed to make food, so let me know what you plan to do.

We (leaders) will be buying the plywood and gesso sometime this week. If you want to help out with the mural, let us know ASAP. I emailed some teachers to be our supervisor but so far no luck. We need a teacher to be with us when we paint. But getting the gesso on the plywood is a huge task if you think about the size. Anyway, please encourage any friends who are students or alumni to be part of the mural! (It gets you hours...)

Mural Design Hours

Hey guys,
This is basically everything you need to know for the mural as of now...
For People who are drawing portraits:

These are the first of the portraits and will update more as they come in.

For People interested in Fashion Design:
I want you to get computer paper and fold it in half (hamburger style) and draw sample clothing styles ( 4 to a page)for the following era:
1898-1908
1920s
1940s
1950s
1960s
1970s
1980s

For People who want to work with FONTS:
I want you guys to give me samples of different fonts you can do on a piece of paper
Each sample should include: Name and Graduation Year

Flyers and Recruitment:

In terms of hours:
Portraits > 5 hours ( It will depend on detail)
Fashion Design > 3 hours ( It will depend on how many you do and detail)
Fonts > 2 hours per page
Flyers: 20 copies = 1 hour
Recruiting a person for the mural: 1 hour

The initial deadline for fonts and fashion designing is Jan. 23rd (same day as midterms)
The initial deadline for portraits is Jan 30th
By initial i mean, something we can show Mr. Snyder so we can offically start painting...I hope all of this can keep you busy b/c there is more to come ( Cranbury Craft Show)
